Hints for doing well
in Chemistry (and most other classes):
1) Come to all classes.
2) Review your notes after each lecture. Annotate to
clarify.
3) Read the text before class.
4) Start on homework well in advance of the due
date.
5) Try all homework problems on your own and get help in
office hours or section when you are stuck.
6) Remember that there is no substitute for pushing
yourself hard on the homework.
7) Science is a collaborative activity -- working in
groups is fine but be sure you really know how to solve
problems.
I recommend that you read each upcoming chapter the
weekend before class and then start on the homework either
Sunday evening or Monday.
"...our
intelligence is not fixed, and the best way that we can
grow our intelligence is to embrace tasks where we might
struggle and fail."

Learning Myth: Why I'll Never Tell My Son He's Smart"
